Over 70 priests of the Diocese of Buea, alongside their Bishop, His Lordship Michael Bibi, gathered today january 29th, 2025 at Aunty Kate bannquet Hall, Bishops pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Center, for a crucial pastoral meeting as part of the 2025 Pastoral Week. The session, which began at 10:00 AM, focused on strengthening pastoral life and enhancing the spiritual mission of the Diocese.
During the meeting, the clergy engaged in discussions on key issues, including the election of new Deans for the various deaneries, strategies to make the Diocesan pastoral plan more practical as it marks its 25th anniversary, and the importance of internal discipline to ensure a unified presbyterium in Buea.
A major point of discussion was the need to regulate the increasing number of offertories during liturgical celebrations. Additionally, the clergy deliberated on the accommodation and welfare of retired priests, with a commitment to constructing a new residence for them in Bakingili.
The meeting, characterized by open and constructive dialogue, provided an opportunity for the priests to engage freely with their bishop. It concluded with all present expressing satisfaction with the resolutions reached, reinforcing their commitment to the spiritual and pastoral advancement of the Diocese.
