Sunday January 7th, 2024, Bishop of Maroua -Mokolo His Lordship Bruno ATEBA EDO, invited all to bring the light of Jesus to their families, work places everywhere they go. This was during the opening mass for the 47th National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon holding in Maroua under the theme “A Synodal Church on Mission”.
Presiding over the Eucharistic celebration which also marked the solemnity of the Epiphany, His Lordship Bruno ATEBA EDO, Bishop of the Diocese of Maroua-Mokolo told the Christians gathered at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral Founangue, Maroua that just as Epiphany marks the coming of light into the world, all who go by the name of Christian must allow themselves to be lighted by Christ’s loving presence in order to be able to shed the light of Christ everywhere, especially in our nation Cameroon.
Bearing in mind that only light can dispel darkness the prelate presented Jesus as the true light of the world: the perfect light that all should follow like the three wise men in order not to be lost.
Before the close of the mass, the celebration witnessed a symbolic moment of cultural presentation during which the choir in a typical Tupuri style handed special sticks to the Bishops; exhibiting a sign of unity and love in the church.
The one-week annual seminar is a unique opportunity for the Bishops of Cameroon and their collaborators to pray for peace and to commune with the faithful of the crisis hit Extreme North Region while discussing on the wellbeing of the pastoral life of the church.
