Saturday, September 14, 2024, alumni of the 1974 batch of St. Joseph’s College Sasse paid a courtesy visit to their alma mater to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the 1974 batch of SOBA; the Revival batch. This event, which commenced with the celebration of Holy Mass, came at the eve of the 85th anniversary of this landmark College scheduled for December 2024.
50 years after top-notch education received from Sasse College, these members of SOBA 1974 are determined not to forget their roots but to do that which is within their reach to support their alma mater in becoming the most admired secondary school in Cameroon.
The Bishop of Buea and Proprietor of Sasse College, His Lordship Michael Bibi, while addressing the 1974 batch of SOBA, commended them for the enormous support to their alma mater. He saluted them for donating 20 solar lamps to Sasse, with the objective of lighting the campus and enhancing the security of the students. The Bishop reassured the members of his total support and collaboration as they continue this journey to make Sasse great . He further lauded them for staying united as a class and for giving sasse, pride of place.
This visit shall remain a remarkable one to the College family as they take on the 2024/25 academic year.
It is worth noting that St. Joseph’s College was the first College in the then Southern Cameroon and the 85th anniversary of this College is one of the key activities marking the 75th anniversary of canonical erection of the Diocese of Buea.
